Neil Gaiman Ticket Update

This week's allotment of tickets for the Neil Gaiman event on December 14th are gone!

There was a line of about 99 people when we opened up Monday morning.  Despite a light rain that lasted nearly all day, Gaiman fans kept coming in steadily.  Tickets were gone not long after 7 p.m.

We had set aside 100 tickets to be given out starting Monday, December 7th to those who come into the store or reserve tickets over the phone.

We're going to have to rethink this a bit.  We went through the first 100 tickets yesterday in about 10 minutes.  This would give people calling in next Monday almost zero chance.  Which doesn't seem fair.

We'll post an update later in the week.

As fast as the tickets went, our supply of Neil Gaiman books went faster.  We're told that we'll have more either late Wednesday or early Thursday.

So here's an idea!

Come to Little Shop of Thursday evening for the lighting of the Decatur Tree right in front of your favorite book store.  It should be a beautiful, but cool, evening.  Drink some hot chocolate.  Eat some goodies.  Sing some carols.  Get some Neil Gaiman books!

Oh my goodness! I'm so glad that I managed to get a ticket for the signing, and that I didn't have my heart set on getting another Gaiman book for the signing. This is certainly going to be interesting...

So... showed up about 7:30 and the tickets were all gone. If ANYONE decides they can't go and are willing to give up their ticket, I'd love to have it. I actually need 3, but will take 1. The littlest Neil fan I know is 4 and she really wants to see him... if you can help, please let me know.. I can be reached on AIM at brg0909.

According to my very sad Facebook status, the last ticket was gone about 15 minutes before I got there at 6:41. I'm still splendidly happy for the shop's success, though.

I'm glad I went when I did to snag my ticket! Thanks for posting about your book stock -- I'll be back in to buy something Gaimany once Gaimany things are available.

I was prepared to not get a ticket, but I can't help being disappointed. As a 9-to-6er, there was simply no way for me to make it there any earlier. Even if I don't get to go, I'm still glad he is coming. Just... argh!

I really hope that those of us hundreds of miles away, but still eager to get tickets, will have a chance! I've been wanting to go to a signing for years, but this is the closest Neil (who is my favorite author) has been to me and I'm planning my finals schedule around the hope that I can go. I am very excited for your store and your eager customers, but please remember those of us that can't be there physically to finagle our tickets. I hope to see all of you there the 14th!

Ditto--I'm originally from Atlanta, but away for grad school, and flying in the afternoon of the signing. It would be amazing to attend this. Good luck with sorting out how you'll handle phone reservations! I have Monday at 10AM set aside specifically for this. ;)
