Thank You, Neil

We at Little Shop of Stories would like to express to you our most heartfelt thanks for coming to Decatur and spending time with us yesterday.

For a small, independent bookstore like ours, this was an opportunity to thank our loyal customers in a very special way and to introduce ourselves to a large number of people from all over Atlanta and the entire Southeast.  In what often feels to be a desolate landscape littered with the remains of our comrades, you have helped to keep our light shining.

Your fans are truly remarkable.  People waited as long as six hours to meet with you.  (For those of you in the front rows who were home by 7:30 last night, Neil continued to graciously sign until 1:18 a.m.)  Not only did your readers not complain about the wait, but they invariably showed good humor.  Very late in the evening -- actually, very early in the morning -- one gentleman, immediately after getting his books signed, stood slightly off to the side, opened his copy of Sandman, and for several minutes stared at what you had written with an expression of deep bliss and contentment.  I am certain many hundreds of other people shared those same emotions last night.

Sincerely,
Diane, Dave, Krista, Terra, Justin, Al, Cal, Matt, Marcy & Sydney

We were there until almost the very end, had a great time and met some terrific people. It was well worth the wait for us. I hope someone got Mr. Gaiman some Aspercreme or Tom's of Maine muscle balm for his poor hand. The man only took one brief break? And was nice as pie until the end.

Thank you so much for bringing it all together. And thank you for letting me bring my dog in the store to pick up our books for the event. :)

I second the Thank You to Neil *and* to the LSOS staff for making it happen. I was thrilled to finally see "live" the person who has written some of my favorite tales, and I appreciate how he remained gracious through hours of signing. (Did y'all give him an icepack for his hand at the end? And a beer or two?). If only all authors were so approachable. Thanks folks, and we LOVE your store!!

Thank you LSS and Neil for a fantastic night. I was wondering if anyone got any part of the talk on video, and if so, when and where might others obtain a souvenir copy?

Just wanted to say thanks Neil and staff. It was such a wonderful experience. I was one of the lucky ones in the front rows, but glad that things flowed so smoothly all around. Two thumbs way up for everyone involved and for the author himself.

I have to add my thanks to Neil Gaiman and Little Shop of Stories. The readings and just listening to Neil be his magical self made for a lovely, unforgettable evening. I would have waited as long as it took to meet him and get our books signed (which was 10pm, in our case), and I am so grateful to Neil that he gave his time so very generously after what must have already been an incredibly long day. And to the staff--you kept things positive even as late as it was, and you are all also to be commended for the evening going so well.
