Maggie Stiefvater will be here on Monday!

On Monday, August 1st, at 7pm, Maggie Stiefvater will be at Little Shop of Stories! And she'll talk! And sign books! And we're really REALLY excited! And we're over-using exclamation points! Seriously, though, Maggie's books are amazing, particularly her Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy. If you haven't read Shiver yet, hustle on over here and grab a copy before we sell out. Be sure to come out and meet Maggie on Monday, too!

I'm Rocking ... In My School Shoes

Pete the Cat: Rocking in My School Shoes!!!

July 22nd
7 p.m.

Because it's all good.

Borders (1971-2011)

Borders, the second largest bricks and mortar bookstore chain in the country, announced yesterday that it will go before a bankruptcy judge tomorrow and request approval to turn their business over to liquidators.  It is expected that all of Borders' remaining stores will begin going-out-of-business sales on Friday.

We feel very, very sorry for the 10,700 remaining employees (and the more than 7,000 who were terminated earlier this year) who will soon be out of work, thousands of whom have spent a decade or more of their lives as dedicated booksellers.  Through no fault of their own, these folks will be joining the 9.2% of Americans who are currently unemployed and seeking jobs.  Our hearts go out to each of you.
